Dental Implants
A dental implant is the closest permanent type of restoration to your natural tooth. It is an artificial root that is meant to replace the natural root of a missing tooth or teeth.
Prosthodontics
Prosthodontics is one of the specialties of dentistry that deals with the replacement of missing teeth. It focuses on the replacement and aesthetic restoration of teeth. A Prosthodontist is a specialist dentist who deals with the replacement of missing teeth and related mouth or jaw structures by bridges, dentures or prostheses. Dr. Steas is our prosthodontist.
Orthodontics
It’s never too late! Orthodontic treatment is most often used to improve the appearance and alignment of crooked, protruding or crowded teeth, and to correct problems with the bite of the teeth. The benefits of orthodontics can include:
- Correction of dental crowding and straightening of your teeth.
- Correction of your bite so the front and back teeth meet evenly.
- Reducing the chance of damage to prominent teeth.
Dentures
People wear dentures to replace lost or missing teeth to avoid unwanted tooth movements which may affect their bite and cause damage to remaining teeth. Another important reason is so they can eat a more varied, healthier diet which may have been previously restricted. Dentures may also help you to smile with confidence.
Fillings
Dental fillings are single or combinations of metals, plastics, glass or other materials used to repair or restore teeth. One of the most popular uses of fillings is to “fill” an area of tooth that your dentist has removed due to decay – “a cavity.” Fillings are also used to repair cracked or broken teeth and teeth that have been worn down from misuse (such as from nail-biting or tooth grinding).
Sedation
At our practice we offer dental treatments under basic dental conscious sedation with intravenous (IV) midazolam. It is an extremely safe alternative if you are afraid of the dentist or you had a bad experience in the past and you just don’t want to know. There are term and conditions for each candidate and unfortunately not every patient is suitable for it at the dental practice.
Orthodontics “Invisalign”
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment that straightens teeth without the use of metal braces. Invisalign is a series of custom-made clear braces that cover your teeth and gently pull them into the proper position over time. Because they are clear and can be taken on and off, they are less noticeable than traditional metal braces.
